Course Description

This course teaches how to market “YOU”, networking, creating resumes, completing job applications and writing effective cover letters will be explored over the course.   Students will gain an overview of career readiness skills, business principles and technical abilities necessary to succeed in the modern workplace. This course provides a contemporary look at what you need to know before entering or reentering the workforce. Learn important skills from dressing for success to social media networking.  

Students will apply what they learn in class discussions and exercises. All students will leave the course with an updated resume, cover letter, networking sites, and interview confidence. Whatever your career goals, this course will help you build the foundation to achieve them. As a course completion requirement, students will take the Southwest Airlines Communication Certification exam.

This certification validates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively, think critically, and work with others, resulting in an employee with greater interpersonal and customer service skills.

Those who earn the certification are more qualified and prepared to enter any work environment, regardless of industry interest.
